40 young people aged 14 to 18 from Greece, the Czech Republic, Italy and Germany met at each of their schools for one week to get to know each other and  to discuss their future prospects as Europeans in a variety of ways.

Based on the TUI Foundation's European Youth Study, which takes a comparative look at the situation of young Europeans in 2023 and shows a generation characterised by fears about the future, the Erasmus+ project focused on the perspectives, questions and visions of pupils, some of whom have been taking part in Erasmus+ project activities for several years.

As part of three workshops, the pupils developed texts, images and songs in mixed international groups that reflected the current attitude to life of the participants and their views on the European Community.

All participants expressed their support for a European idea that goes beyond an economic community and above all unites social values, maintains peace between nations and strives for tolerance, diversity, justice and open borders in Europe.

They see tendencies towards isolation and the increasing discrimination against social groups that they perceive in their countries as a danger for the European idea. A study day at the Bergen-Belsen memorial site promoted the realisation that societies that strive for hatred, discrimination, violence and a homogenised ethnic community lead to war, expulsion, extermination and great suffering for many.
